Cant open pages documents on Capitan since update
Hi,
I cannot open pages documents since the last pages upgrade. I am using El Capitan on a Mac late 2011

Similar problem for with - only with large Pages files though.

Not sure this will work for you but I can only open a document if I open it through Pages. In other words, go to File > Open. This is for documents created in Word. I have not created any in Pages yet. However, I can't open docx files.
Nop, it still doesn't work.
The problem is that I cannot open Pages documents since the last pages update.
The message I get is:- " The file "FILE NAME" couldn't be opened."
Strangely enough, I have no problem with opening a Word Document!
Can anyone please give me guidance on this please.

I am having the same problem and use this program for work so I am getting very frustrated!!!!!
I try to open existing pages documents that have previously been created before the update and now they will not open. Colorful ball spins and spins and pages says it is not responding. HELP!!!!!!!

Try completely closing down your computer and restarting it altogether.
I have just done this and the problem has now (finally!!) fixed itself.
Haven't had the colourful balls, just a message saying that it cannot open the file. This applied to by Pages and Numbers.
