How to BLOCK a group of numbers?

Hi,

I have an iPhone 5s 16GB with iOS 8.4.1.

My phone number is leaked out for the advertisement companies to continuously contact me (extremely annoying!!!).

Is there a way to block "a group" of numbers starting with, for example, +1(929)-990-xxxx?

Essentially I wish to block all phone calls and text messages from all the numbers starting with a +1(929)-990.

Thanks to anyone for helping out! Really appreciate your help and you will be helping me a ton by getting rid of all the unnecessary noises!

According to the support document on call blocking, Block calls and block or filter messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support, there is no mention of the ability to use wildcards for call blocking. I don't believe it is possible.

What do you mean by "wildcards"? This is the first time I'm using Apple Community, please excuse my lack of knowledge.

I agree with ChrisJ4203.

You might consider asking your cellular carrier if they provide this capability to block a group of numbers. The answer is probably "no", but it couldn't hurt to ask.

The other alternative (besides living with the annoying calls) is to enter ten thousand numbers into the iPhone's Block area.

Get the WhitePages or Mr Number app and use it to identify/silence spammers.
