Q: how do I view my iCloud content

I have an iPhone 6 with 5.0 GB storage on my iCloud account.  I have about 2000 pictures on the phone.  For the last month or longer I have been getting a message that my phone cannot be backed up because there is not enough room in my iCloud account.  A 'friend' helped me move my photos to the cloud.  I think that is what caused the back up problem. 

I need help in two areas, one, getting the pix off the Cloud so the phone can be backed up and, two, learning how to view the contents in the Cloud account so I can determine if I want to keep it there.

If anyone would be willing to help me with these I would greatly appreciate it.
