Which will not work with Apple apps. See this from their FAQ list: Apple does not provide native mouse support for iOS. The Citrix X1 Mouse communicates directly with Citrix Receiver as opposed to communicating with iOS. Citrix X1 Mouse and Citrix Receiver utilize Apple’s publically supported APIs to establish the Bluetooth communication (BLE) between the X1 Mouse and Citrix Receiver. The mouse functionality is only available on XenApp and XenDesktop hosted apps and desktops and Citrix ShareConnect, ShareConnect and GoToMyPC mobile apps, the mouse will not function for other iOS apps. The mouse can also be used on a non-iOS device, in which case the X1 Mouse behaves just like a standard Bluetooth 4.0 mouse.
Well, KIND of. Proper comportment in the forums would be great, but voicing one's opinion on what one feels is missing CAN be productive, even if this is not the best forum for it.
Many people would wait before going elsewhere if they felt their concerns of what the feel is "missing" will be addressed.
On a personal note, I'm waiting for the 32GB Mac Pro - which is rumored for September now, because I much prefer Apple, and the latest update left it at 16 max. Many people in my office switched to Windows/PC but many are waiting.
I feel as if the accelerated schedule for that -- if rumors are true -- has a lot to do with the volume of outrage in these forums.
The "Apple will never [fill in the blank]" people have been proven wrong too many times in these forums to use that as a reason to move on to another company that has the feature that "Apple will never support" yet is inferior in every other way, in that person's opinion.
Depends on how long you are prepared to wait doesn't it? iPads have been on the market for many years already, years during which Apple have not equipped any of them with mouse support. But if you want to wait longer that is up to you.

One of the things that is not permitted under the TOU is speculating or discussing rumors about future Apple Products.
Yeah, I wasn't 100% sure it was actually announced, thought it was.
I came back to say: Idris, I agreed with BOTH of your points, should have made that clear, re-read and realized I sounded as if I wasn't in agreement.
---As long as people stay within the Terms of Use, they are free to reply as they see fit.
Yep, 100% agree. (forgot about the speculating part; I haven't been on the forum for a while. ;o)) Luckily, it turned out I wasn't speculating. ;o)
---If you need a mouse, don't buy an iPad, not because there's anything bad about iPads, but because people should not buy Apple products if those products do not meet their needs.
Yep, 100% agree, IF they need something right away.
I was just adding that there's also a "wait and see" scenario, if you feel that the level of outrage is high enough, and to not trust the "Apple will never" people that you see on the forums. People at higher levels sometimes forget that people will take their word for it which doesn't help Apple out much. I got to level 2 because I helped copiously with the early iPhone stuff, and that's where I saw a lot of the "Apple will never" stuff, which a LOT of has turned out to be untrue.
Now, someone on here said "it's unlikely the ipad pro will add a mouse, since it's never had one in a loooong time", and I tend to agree, but I won't buy a pro without one, and I'm loathe to buy a Surface since it might not tightly integrate with all the other stuff I have going on (although by all appearances, the Surface is great). Ironically, you CAN run a mouse (and I have), but Idris I'm remembering we can't talk about HOW here. ;o)
When the new MacBook Pro was announced at 16GB max, I just kind of chuckled and waited to see what would happen with that. I've been having to manipulate my memory usage for quite some time now, as has every single person I work with (Java developers), and I know my micro-community is pretty representative of a fairly large customer base for Apple, so figured it wouldn't stand for long.
Interesting: out of pure curiosity I read the TOU - I seem to remember something about Apple changing them a while back. No-where could I find a prohibition on talking about rumors. There's an "unsolicited idea" section, but at the same time there's a "feedback is welcome" section in that same side-document. Doesn't seem to relate.
Unless I missed it -- anyone have a link? -- I believe speculating is fine.

You'd be wrong.
Apple asks for and encourages "constructive" criticism.
No decision makers "speak" in this community. They surely listen, but answers are not forthcoming to any requests for an official position from Apple on any topic. Period. Their yard. Their rules.
This is why screeds are futile. It takes mere seconds reading this thread to hear there are fervent users who want a mix of 1970s input technology mixed with today's cutting edge touch technology.
We get it. You want a mouse.
Interesting to see Apple has chosen to remove a posting that was a factual account of a users experience, and did not contain any offensive or abusive language. What issues ?? , what problem ?? lol :-)

If your post was removed for cause, the Hosts will send you an email explaining why. If your post was removed because it was a reply to a post that was removed and so no longer makes sense to the thread, you will not receive any notification. If it was someone else's post that got removed, well, that's between them and the Hosts.
This is not true! An iPad Pro has a 13"display and it is called "pc" from Apple, not from users. When you use Excel for 5 or more hours, or Autocad360, you understand the importance to use a mouse for serious work! IOS is useful because its O.S. is embedded and secure from malware, for this reason many users want this product and not a MacBook! Excuse me for my bad English, but this is the point about the question of using a mouse on iPad pro 12,9". Personally i think that Apple is not interested to support a mouse for obvious reasons: do you wants to buy a MacBook if the iPad Pro becomes a real office machine?
Thanks to all in the forum.

Was it a technical support question, or the answer to a technical question? That is all the TOU allows. If no one reports other posts they probably won't be removed, but you take your chances.
The post was a complaint, a criticism and and rant about Apple's iPad Pro from an irate user who posted.
These types of postings ARE NOT allowed by the Terms of Use of these technical support community forums that everyone agrees to prior to being accepted to be able to use and avtively participate these forums.
The Poster's reply was NOT of an technical question relating to the operational issue or general technical question about iPads.
Since the reply was a rant/complaint, by the ToU, it was summarily removed.
These forums are not a social media platform for open discussions.
Apple graciously supplies these forums for users to share technical advice, knowledge and solutions and while Apple forum moderators allow/excercise some modicum/level of flexibility within the ToU, outright violations of the Terms of Use is strictly enforced. even to us long time contributing members, who regularly participate in these technical community forums, as well!
The post I was referring to was most definately not a rant, it was factual explaining that some simple tasks that are taken for granted on other systems could not be done on the supposedly "superior" Apple product.
I think that this was constructive because it would help users assess whether the Apple solution was suitable for them or not, thus avoiding an unhappy user which is a better outcome.
Its good that people are passionate about things, but on the Apple forum it seems that any comment that is negative is quite often met with a response from others that is like there has been a personal attack them. This is neither helpful or constructive, and I do not see these responses being deleted.

Apple's website/'playground", Apple's rules!
The whole point of the iPad Pro is so we do not need to bring around a Notebook!
I have been using the iPad Pro for almost all my meetings for several months but sometimes I have to access some web apps designed for PCs. The only area the iPad Pro fails is in selecting buttons or selections designed for a mouse. Unfortunately a finger is too big and mouse simulation is too clumsy. Because of this I either bring a MAC or PC notebook Along to these meetings.
I have been recommending to some clients to shift from PCs to iPads but was stymied whenever they accessed web apps that require a mouse for efficient use.
It would be good to have a mouse For the iPad. I am sure that adding mouse support is no big deal since android has easily implemented it. There are many applications that can be very appropriate for an iPad Pro that require some kind of mouse or trackpad pointer like on a MacBook.
Thanks for the comment. And I will keep it in mind.
However, I don't remotely access my PC nor do I use any environment like Citrix. I just need to access some web pages on the internet from my iPad that don't work well without a mouse. For example, entering dates on a calendar using my iPad can be difficult if the date boxes are too small for my big fingers. Same thing with editing text. Relying on the magnifying glass to properly position the cursor is okay but having a mouse would be more inefficient.
And I don't understand why Apple does not support a mouse for the iPad Pro since it does support a mouse on the Mac. Btw, I really love the wireless mouse on the Mac.
