Having just downloaded and tried it, I'd say that may be misleading  It certainly does not recognize nor work with either of my two logitech BT mice.

i had it from awhile ago but was never impressed. This update leaves me still unimpressed with Jump - RD client at least works seamlessly.

i May be missing something with the setup, but there is also nothing in their support section about how to setup a physical mouse with iOS, so no help there If I am.

I should have mentioned this before: It requires a specific mouse that can actually pair with the iPad - the Swiftpoint GT (http://swiftpoint.com/)

So, along with a $15 app users need to buy a specific $149 BT mouse?  Yes, perhaps you might have mentioned that.  My two Logitech BT mice combined cost much less than that.

Indeed, I should have added that to my first post. Sorry about that. Just reporting that it's possible.

It's possible, but not practical with only support for only one specific and very much expensive a BT mouse that works with that specfic app.

Kinda ridiculous and not worth the hassle of using this app, IMHO.

When all is said and done this app, actually, cost you $165.00 U.S.D to use!

My finger or smart Bluetooth stylus to navigate a remote computer access client is cheaper!

Hopefully, that option will be useful to some people. Thanks for the info.

The Citrix X1 mouse looks more like a bust.  You'll need to install the complete citrix environment.  Citrix made it name as running virtual pc desktops.  Not sure if they have a simple remote desktop server.

"Citrix X1 Mouse delivers the complete mobile workspace experience to iPad and iPhone devices by enabling mouse precision to virtual Windows apps and desktops."

You need to install Critix software on your host box.

    ios app:

    buy the mouse here:

    $60.00

I have bought the mouse (which works with Macs and Windows PC's as well). It pairs to my iPad Pro via bluetooth just like any Bluetooth device. However, it doesn't do anything until you fire up Jump Desktop.  I routinely remote into work and remote control 3 Windows servers and one Mac. Sure, the physical mouse isn't necessary as you can certainly use the touchscreen and the virtual mouse controls normally provided. BUT WOW! My productivity AND my comfort level is so much better now on my iPad when I remote in.

Onice you establish the remote session, the physical mouse is instantly in control of the cursor of the remote machine. And it's a pretty slick little mouse, with a stylus built in, and a scroll wheel to boot.

It may not be for everyone's budget or for everyone's taste. But if you have the money, and if you want to sit in front of your iPad and remote control a Mac or Windows PC and have your keyboard and. real, physical mouse right in front of you doing exactly what you'd expect them to do, this is for you. And it is awesome.

Why are you shocked? Did you seriously spend that much money without finding out if the device would meet your needs?

No I would have thought a device the size of the iPad Pro would have let you use a mouse,  and it seems I am not the only one on the internet, clearly you do not own one.

Professional what? Not all everyone has the same needs.

You do realise Pro means Professional right? I understand everyone has different needs but the iPad Pro is designed for professionals, and yes people have different needs to it should let you design with a mouse, rather than fingers.

<Sigh> Apple is not reading here. Use the feedback link if you want them to know how you feel.

    Did you just sigh? please.

So that means you didn't bother to do any research, you just made an assumption. Personally, I would never spend on the order of one thousand dollars on a tool without making sure that it did what I needed. I have not purchased an iPad Pro because it does not meet my needs. It's too large for me to use comfortably for the things I need to do. But, I checked it out, held it, examined the specs. And yes, I know it has no mouse support.

Professional what? Not all everyone has the same needs.

It seems you have missed my point. There are professionals in many areas who find that the iPad Pro meets their needs. I was challenging your apparent assumption that every "professional" needs mouse support. They don't.

I understand that the iPad Pro meets neither your needs nor your assumptions. You may want to look at the Surface Pro. I've heard some good things about it. But, do your research first.

I am trying to understand why the attitude on this board is so self important,  I own a lot of Apple products and this is the only time I have thought they have got it wrong.

never once felt a need nor a desire for

This does not mean everyone else does not need the desire, you are one person.

Word documents, work with Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations

Word is pretty standard, you would not need a mouse, as for PowerPoint you either do not use it or have very basic skills for it, as yes PowerPoint does need a mouse when you are angling up shapes and text or designing a new template the drag and drop with your finger takes time and if on a stand is not possible, any PowerPoint expert would say the same, unless they have a lot of time an patience, which why make things harder.  Remember PowerPoint is Microsoft and Microsoft use the mouse.

All the other stuff I agree you would not need a mouse,  I also code so selecting text and moving text in thousands of lines of code is also not easy.....did I buy the wrong product, maybe yes but its a shame when the iPad is so good for it, just not offering mouse support eliminates a coder or program designer, again unless they have a lot of time.

And no iOS device has ever supported a mouse, so why you would think a new iOS device suddenly would is beyond me.  iOS is and always has been a purely touch interface operating syste

Times change and Apple also move with the times,  the amount of people they are alienating with the iPad Pro its user base are calling out for mouse support, it would be a silly move to ignore, just because you don't need it, does not mean that other users don't again you are one person and the internet it filling up with the request for this.

I have not missed your point at all maybe you should word your sentences better,

Professional what? Not all everyone has the same needs.

If you are talking about needs then you should understand that a person asking for this type of support is just that another person with needs, I have no desire to speak or debate with someone with such arrogance, and what I have seen on this board so far the users with higher levels seem to think they can shout down any sort of debate with sarcastic self important replies, word of advice talk to people how you would want to be spoken to.  (SIGH)

And yet you can't seem to help from responding.

There is nothing to "debate". iOS had the features it has. Nothing said here will change that. They either meet your needs or they don't. If they don't, you should consider getting something that does. Maybe, at some point in the future, Apple will change those features but, I would think most professionals want a tool they can use now.

We have explained why the iPad has not supported a mouse, does not currently support a mouse, and will very likely not support a mouse in the near future many times in very different ways.

The iPad according to Apple will not have a mouse. It is neither intended nor designed to do what a MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro do.

It is clear, that after 6 generations of iPad, 4 of iPad Mini, and 1 iPad Pro, Apple has not found it necessary to include mouse support in these devices. Clearly the need is not there to warrant the addition. i.e the people that need a mouse clearly do not make up a significant enough percentage to modify the general interface to accommodate a mouse.

There are other tablets on the market that do support mice. But I do not see the sales numbers for these be any better than the iPad without it.

At the end of the day, we are just users like you, we cannot do anything to get mouse support on an iPad other than provide feedback to Apple directly.

This is is neither arrogance nor self importance, it's just a fact. What is arrogant is to even attempt to imply that a company like Apple has not analyzed the inclusion of a mouse in these devices 25 ways from sunday, and have found it to be unnecessary for their bottom line.  And to think that the lack of a mouse is affecting sales in any meaningful way is just ridiculous.

If you need a mouse buy a device that supports a mouse. Do not buy a device that has never had a mouse, and then expect mouse support.
