just upgraded and wish to turn off imessage on my mac read some other answers but does not correspond

having my message sent from iphone and coming out on the mac and not receiving replies on my phone.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like you do not want to receive messages on the Mac. I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.


Link your iPhone number and Apple ID to use iMessage and FaceTime - Apple Support

Sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on your Mac:

  1. Go to Messages > Preferences > Accounts. Click iMessage in the left column, then click Sign Out.
  2. Go to FaceTime > Preferences. Select your Apple ID, then click Sign Out.
