Q: 27" Late 2015 iMac - Windows 7

Hi,

I'd like to install and run win10 next to ElCapitan On my late 2015 5k iMac

MY upgrade path is from win7 pro x64 ( i have a fresh licence key)... but BootCamp didn't accept the ISO. (wants Win 8+) which i don't have :-(

TO my information i 1st MUST  install win 7 bevore i can upgrade or make a clean win10 installation.

What do I have to do?

regards,

TObias

Your 2015 iMac does not support Windows 7. Apple considers it a legacy OS and no longer allows it on 2015 Macs. You may need to return the W7 license and buy a W10 license. The other option is to buy a W8.1 license and upgrade.

Thanx for the quick answer - although not the one i hoped for.

Would be nice if apple updates the list of compatible iMacs - the mid 2015 5k model is the last one listed and fine with win 7...

    20  bucks for nothing :-(

..nevertheless, when reading other posts i better postpone installation.

Based on Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support, you are correct, because it has

there are no 2015 models. I suggest you provide a Product Feedback and ask Apple to correct the information.

    Good catch.
