Q: nbc authentication error

Ive been trying since the app hit my 3rd generation apple tv ,I go to settings then i go type my code given into the box then i go to direct tv and sign in and when i do i get AUTHENTICATION ERROR ,been trying this twice a day for 2 weeks but no luck.

Is there a remove for this problem?

Imac, Mac OS X (10.6.6), intel core 2 duo

    Try logging into your directv account from another tab prior to trying the nbc.com/appletv activation.  It worked for me.

    I am also having this issue. Logging into my directv account in another tab does not help. Has anyone else ran into this and been able to solve the problem?

    You have to allow cookies in your log in (iPad, iPhone Mac, whatever you are using to log on to activate)  settings.

     

    FOr ipad iPad iPod iPhone Mac

    Go to general, safari, in 'cookies and website data' choose always allow.

     

     

    IF you are using a windows or android,

    How to Allow or Block Cookies in Microsoft Edge:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge app.
    2. Click on the More actions button in the top right corner and select Settings.
    3. Scroll down the settings and click on View advanced settings button.
    4. Under Cookies, select one of the three options to allow or block cookies.

     

    Enabling cookies using the Android web browser

    1. Open the Browser.
    2. Go to Menu > Settings > Privacy & security. Or, go to Menu > More > Settings and find "Privacy settings."
    3. Make sure Accept Cookies is checked or switched On.
