Just bought a x2 cintiq 13HD to use as third monitors with 2 Mac Pro dual monitor setups and the 2nd display cuts out entirely....do i need a splitter cable of some sort?

How are the monitors connected/what input on the monitors?
You have only have a max of two legacy connections (DVI and HDMI). For additional legacy connection you need an active adopter.
The monitors are the old DVI and are connected through the thunderbolt to DVI adapters. OK that makes sense, can you point me in the right direction for the adoptive adapters?
Actually having looked at what I've got the two legacy monitors are already connected via Apple miniport to DVI adapters, won't these be active adopters? Is it purely that we've also got to connect the Cintiqs via miniport to HDMI via an additional active adopters as opposed to straight into the HDMI ports?
For displays up to 1920 wide, the modest-priced Single-Link DVI adapter is used, and is not always an Active adapter. There are Active versions of these adapters, but they tend to run in the US$40 range.
For displays over 1920 wide, the US$100 Apple Dual-Link DVI adapter (with USB pigtail for additional Power) is used, and it is an ACTIVE adapter.
Very unhelpfully, Apple does not label their DVI adapters as Active or not.
