Q: Streaiming audio/video in El Capitan

I'm looking for a solution to stream audio/video in El Capitan. I researched what was available and it looks Quicktime Broadcaster along with Quicktime Streaming Services (QTSS) or Darwin Streaming Services (DSS) will do the job.

I'm looking for a help with the installation/setup- I have installed Quicktime Broadcaster, and I also run Mac OS X Server, but can't find anything about QTSS, though, I see a system user qtss that corresponds to the service.

I tried to install DSS from http://dss.macosforge.org/ but it warned that it's not compatible with my OS X version and can damage it, so I bailed.

Can somebody point me to a help page or installation instructions?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), OS X Server 3.1

It really depends on what sort of streaming service you are providing?

Are you trying to do a web browser based service?  A direct peer-to-peer

service?  An app based service?  Is the service providing content to

Windows and Linux machines as well as Macs?

My immediate need is to stream a video from my computer or laptop to my server computer for viewing, but eventually, I would like to stream over the web.

I have all- linux, Mac and Windows, but Mac to Mac, or Mac to windows will suffice.
