Q: unable to send a large file

I thought Mail Drop was just supposed to work?  I have Yosemite 10.10.5  on my 1-year-old iMac. I am signed into iCloud. Earlier this morning I sent one large 16 bit .tiff to a client. She received it just fine. I didn't have to tell my icloud account to use mail drop, it didn't ask me to use it but I guess it did.

Right now I just tried to send another one, which is a smaller file than the first one I sent (it was cropped down) and now my iMac won't send it.

I am using my iCloud email server. I hit send and I get a drop down that says its too large to send. It doesn't ask me if it can use Mail Drop. I have 3 more to send and none of them will go. Again all 3 of these are smaller .tiff files than the first one I sent.

So how do I get this to work?

thanks, Susan
