Bug with search results in the address bar

This is a really weird and specific bug I've encountered, but very annoying nonetheless.

When I search using the address bar in Safari, but only when I'm using Safari fullscreen, when I press Enter or click a result in the drop down menu with results, the page I clicked loads, but I immediately get search results from the address bar again. It's difficult to explain, that's why I've provided screens:

Screen 1: I've searched something

Screen 2: After I press enter, the Google page loads, showing the results, but after a fraction of a second it shows me the results again:

I've tried resetting Safari, but to no avail, hope someone can help me out 🙂

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Oh, I also would like to add, this only happens when I use Google as the search engine, other search engines (bing/yahoo) work fine.

I have this issue as well, what is going on with Safari and google search in full screen? How, could this not have been resolved in beta? Not sure, but please apple, fix this problem or I will have to demote my safari browser as by back up. Totally unacceptable, hope Apple fixes the issue soon.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Or you can use your Apple ID to register with this site and go the Apple BugReporter. Supposedly you will get an answer if you submit feedback.

Have the same problem, make Safari unusable. I started using Chrome.

Did this ever get solved? I've had this for months and I think it went away for a bit (or I got used to it) but it's just come back/I've started noticing it again.

Very annoying.

I, at first, thought this was a bit dramatic, but now I'm thinking the exact same thing - it's a tiny issue but one that's infuriating enough to Chrome it up.

Try Safari/Preferences/Search and uncheck Include Safari Suggestions.

Sadly no dice - just had a go on a friend's brand new macbook and it exhibits the exact same behaviour.
