Jul 6, 2015 - Click the Repair Disk button to verify and repair any issues with your startup disk. After your disk is successfully repaired, quit Disk Utility. Click the Apple menu and choose Startup Disk. Select your startup disk, then click Restart.


Aug 13, 2015 - If a question mark appears after you install a software update, re-select your startup disk using OS X Recovery. When you see a circle with a slash symbol instead of the Apple logo, it means your Mac couldn't find a valid System Folder to start up from.
