Hello ... My hard drive has crashed completely. I will have a new MacBook Air shortly.
My photos library is on the lost HD ...
When I start up the new mac, and login in to iCloud .. will the photos library automatically download into my photos app?
What steps would you suggest for me please?

If your Photos Library has been synced to iCloud you only need to enable iCloud Photo Library in Photos on your new Mac, using the same AppleID you used on the old Mac. Photos will download the photos from iCloud Photo Library to the library on your new mac.

Thank you very much .... I selected to CREATE A NEW ALBUM with the start up assistance and allowed it to create the photo library in the pictures directory. Then when asked about using the icloud library, I selected it and signed in as requested .... 40,000 photos are now downloading ... thank you very much ... !
