Latest security update to Yosemite is outdated?

Hi, I went to software update and before I downloaded the latest security update, I decided to see what issues it was addressing. To my surprise, it seems to be from April of 2015 and is for an older version of Yosemite. Details here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201222

The specific update I am referring to is in the screenshot below. The only difference it seems is that the current one is called 2015-004 1.0 and the link above it is called Security Update 2015-004. I cannot find any Apple documentation for the one listed in the screen cap. Is there a problem here?

The section about the El Capitan security update, uses the reference upgrade name while the rest

of the content in that support article that covers older OS X versions use or refer to their own version.

For example, my most recent computer shipped with Mavericks 10.9(.5) and the security and other

software update/upgrade suggested a version number for the Security update. I waited a few days

before bothering, and then only chose to install items that did not require a restart. iTunes, Safari

were not deemed mission critical if they failed to function, so I installed them; and waited several

days for the Security Update and the EFI update (as two which required a restart and would change

the OS X, unlike an application update.)

In the time I'd waited, the newer version of those Security updates (v. 1.0) was available and I felt

it probably covered some minor issues the original versions may have overlooked. So I installed them.

The number of the update title may seem misrepresented, but it is the correct one. While not common

I usually repair disk permissions and some other rituals before and after updates; a hold over from early

OS X and older MacOS systems.

Hopefully your system configuration finds no problem, as there shouldn't be any from these updates.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
