I open a webpage that says " your Mac may have been infected with a malicious virus due to recent internet activity
at the end it says call this number "866-956-3630"

Yes. That is a scam.
Whatever you do don't call that number. All they with do is hose up your computer for you and steal your money.
No one can tell that stuff from OUTSIDE your computer.
No one but a criminal will tell you, unsolicited, that you have a problem, and to call them, and possibly lock up your Mac.
