Q: Calorie Goal on Apple Watch

I've not made my calorie goal except for one day.  is this goal calculated to achieve the appropriate BMI for my age/sex?  I'm going to Weight Watchers, so I'm not using calorie guidelines, but I'd like to know the basis for the apple watch calorie goal potentially to use or adjust it.
