Q: Best way to get music from a parents account?

I shared an account with my mom since the first iphone came out, and now I'm 19 and got the new iPhone 6S Plus, so I finally decided to make my own account. But now, I need help finding a way to either license transfer the music from her account to mine (if that's possible) or share with home sharing. My only quandary with that is that when I read about the facets of home sharing, it mentioned that the "parent" account must confirm the purchases of the "child" account. But if I made my account the "parent" account, I would have to approve her purchases (which is ridiculous) BUT if hers was the parent account, she would have to approve my purchases, which is also ridiculous because I'm 19 and made my own account to be independent. So, my main questions are:

1. Whats the best (if any) way to share/get music from my moms account?

2. If its home sharing, can i bypass the need for the parent account to approve purchases? (I would be using my card and bank account for it, not hers)

3. Also, if home sharing is the only option, is it possible to only share music, and not pictures, videos, apps, etc? (Privacy purposes)

You are talking about two different things here. Home Sharing lets you share content with devices at home. You can use that to download content to your device, so long as it is authorized to that content. That would be music only, since apps would be locked to the old Apple ID, and you would need that Apple ID password whenever you want to update those apps. Your comments regarding parents and approvals are for Family Sharing, a completely different thing. Here is a support document that explains things about Home Sharing. Go to Mom's computer with a flash drive, and get copies of the song files that are yours.  Take the flash drive to your own computer and add the files to your own iTunes library.

The thing with this is, my mom hasnt had a computer for her ipad and iphone for a few years, I have my laptop, but I have never logged into any itunes account on it. Would it be possible to log into her account on my laptop, download the songs onto a flashdrive, then sign out of her account and sign into mine and download them that way?

Yes, home sharing. However, reading your reply to ed2345, it sounds as if there is no iTunes library in existence. If this is music purchased/downloaded from iTunes, you would be able to log into your mother's Apple ID and go to the previous purchases, however, I'm not sure if you have an iTunes library you are syncing to. You don't mention that, since you also indicate that you have not logged into iTunes on your laptop. That could present a problem if you connect your iPhone to that laptop.

Well, we have had an iTunes library before. But on several different computers (all which has had the mother boards fried) I'm not totally positive that I havent logged into my moms account on my laptop so i can check
