unable to retrieve photos, deceased husband was admin now its me

You'll need to provide some more information. Where are these files? Are they managed by an app like iPhoto? Something else? Are they in a separate user account? Can you explain the set up you have that causes the issue?

Thank you Terence, I am afraid I am not technical in any way, however I have managed to open up iCloud from another device and shared it across both of them.

Thank you for taking the time to answer it is the first time I have been on apple support.
