I have two 4th gen units and had this problem on one of them and spent 2 hours on to support last night. I couldn't set it up from my phone so had to do a manual set up, this gave me the date and time errors. Apple asked if i was on a BT broadband connection which i was. So after a few attempts i managed to set it up by turning the wifi off on my phone and turned on personal hotspot. Then when setting up the ATV manually i got the Wifi select option and chose 'Other' I then put in my phone name and password which then let me set up the device.... a real pain but got there in the end..
Good luck.

The reason - BT block port 123 which ATV4 needs to be on to activate. Also some other broadband suppliers use BT.
Please ignore Briansyddall, if your remote turns it on i aint that !!
