Q: Facetime-she can call me, I can't call her

I Facetime with my friend a lot.  Now she can call me but when I call her then Facetime Fails and says she is unavailable.  How do we figure out where the problem is?  Her end or mine?  We both have made changes recently but I think we've used it since them.

I have a iPad2 iOS 7.1 and a iPad Mini which I recently updated to 8.4 and signed into to Facetime

She has an iMac and just replaced the hard drive and it came with El Capitan (she had Mtn Lion) and she also has a iPhone 5S and an iPad.

We both tried power cycling our modems and routers.  I've signed out of Facetime and back in on my iPad2.  How does she sign out of Facetime on El Capitan?

By the way how do you change what Facetime uses to call?  Can I switch from calling her email address to her iPhone phone #?  Like her daughter can Facetime her from iPhone to iPhone.  Can the daughter try using her email instead to Facetime to her iMac?
