Nov 6, 2015 5:52 AM in response to King_Penguinby EmmeElle,Thank you for your help, but, does that mean i have to close my account, then, create a new one ... because the spam continues at my 'me.com' address, and, that same 'me.com' is what is associated to my alternate apple id ...
I hope you will understand my security concerns ...

Nov 6, 2015 7:44 AM in response to EmmeElleby King_Penguin,You don't have to close the account. If you are getting spam to it then you could set rules on the account so that those emails go to the junk/spam folder e.g. you can set rules via http://www.icloud.com via the cogwheel icon below the list of email folders on the account :

Nov 7, 2015 12:22 PM in response to King_Penguinby EmmeElle,Thank you for your help, but, i've read this from other posts, and, it really doesn't answer my concerns. The point is that my alternate id is associated with my mail, even if i follow your suggestion, the span still continues to flood my mail, whether it's my in box or my trash, the spam continues - your suggestion does nothing to prevent or halt the spam.
I am also concerned that there is a vulnerability that can leave us susceptible to hacking, for example, how long do you think it would take a bad guy to figure out the link between the email address and the alternate id, then who knows what kind of trouble they can perpatrate with our iCloud accounts. As it is now, i've turned it off and will refuse to use it, instead preferring to use OneDrive that has no such vulnerability.
Anyway, thank you again, but, closing my account is the only way to be safe and halt the spam.

Hackers don't even need your password anymore to get access to your ... data.
Nothing is 100% secure.
However, getting Spam, and being hacked are 2 different things all together. Spam just means someone has your email address. That's all. It does not in any way imply they are attempting to gain access to it or any such activity.
iCloud: Why am I getting junk mail (spam)? - Apple Support
With that said, You cannot delete accounts. You also cannot change the email address of a me.com account. All me.com accounts where migrated to iCloud when the me.com service was discontinued, so basically your me.com account is already an iCloud account.
You can stop using the account, but all content bought / downloaded with it will forever be tied to it, and can never be migrated to another account.
Getting spam, should not in any way be a cause of concern of security or breaching. Its a fact of online life if you are using the account on websites that may give away there database, you will ecventually get spam of some type. Basically, Spam is mostly just a nuisance. You can set your email client to immediately delete anything that is detected as Spam. But spam is not something you can truly avoid 100% of the time.
How secure...

Nov 7, 2015 3:41 PM in response to EmmeElleby EmmeElle,Further to my previous message, here are some examples of the spam i'm getting ... name1@yahoo.com, then, name2@yahoo.com, then, name3@yahoo.com ... there is about 125 now, so, why can't i block the domain - yahoo.com for example, instead of having to get the spam, then, create a new rule for each and every piece of spam ...
