My Mac will only start up in recovery mode!

My Mac will only start up in recovery mode and when I restart it, it shows a blinking question mark. The only way for it to work is to start it in recovery mode. I need to start it normally! Should I reinstall Mac OS X? Please help!! I don't have a Time Machine backup, and I repaired all the disks in Disk Utility.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), OBS(15-inch Core 2 Duo)

You can also try a SMC reset Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support and see if there is any change.

With a bit of luck you can reinstall your OSX without any file loss since reinstalling the OS does not reformat the drive and keeps your data intact. If that does not work you might have to wipe and format your harddrive and perform a clean install of the OS and this will cause the loss of all your data.

Always back up your important files on at least 2 different external storage media to prevent data loss!
