On my attempt to download the upgrade of the OS X my computer shuts down and after I turn it off again it tells me their is a problem, then gives me a long list of numbers and shuts down. what do I do? more

Nov 5, 2015 6:39 PM in response to alvomsteegby Paul Conaway,It sounds like you are experiencing a kernel panic. There can be a lot of causes for one. I would recommend that you reboot while holding down the command-r key combination. This will boot your computer into recovery mode. Run disk utility and repair your disk and then reboot normally. If you still are encountering the kernel panic. I would take it in to be looked at an Apple Store or at a certified Apple dealer. Downloading the upgrade itself would not cause this issue.
