How to pair magic mouse 2 and new macbook together without a cable?

I just bought a brand new macbook and new magic mouse 2 as according to internet it is one of the must have accessories for any mac user (victim of advertisement here 🙂)

But it seems that there is no connection cable. The mouse comes with USB cable and macbook has USB-C cable and the shopkeeper did not mention I should have some sort of adapter.

Is there a way to pair the device without cable?
