If you're syncing your iPod touch with a new library--yes, clicking erase and sync will delete everything on your iPod.
If you're syncing with the same library, you may be able to manually manage content instead.

Redownload or transfer your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a computer can also help in this situation.

Nov 7, 2015 1:38 PM in response to yitzi770by turingtest2,By everything it means all media, music, videos, podcasts, etc. Apps and app data should be preserved, but backup before you start just to be on the safe side if you've already got the media in your library or you want to wipe the media anyway. Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
