Airport Extreme lists "No Connection". Even though it has one.

Hey All,

Running El Capitan 10.11.1 on a 2013 13" Macbook Pro. Randomly in the last couple days my Airport Extreme (2015) is constantly in LED error flash mode. In the Airport Utility, it lists the status issues as "Internet Connection" and "No DNS Servers". HOWEVER ... everything is working fine. Both my hard wired and wireless connections have no issues.

Have reset both the Airport as well as my ISP router several times, and hard reset the Airport twice and re-setup. Still the flashing indicator of errors when there are none that I can see.

This is more an OCD issue than a practical one as my connection itself seems to be fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

//JB

Greetings thejackofhearts,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your post, it sounds like you are seeing a flashing amber light on your Airport Extreme, but still have a solid connection to the internet. This could be because there was a condition that the base station encountered but was maybe ignored.

If this is the case, follow step 4 in the following article to reset your Airport Extreme. This will allow the base station to display the alert again when you look at the status in Airport Utility.
