Q: Would Apple Pay display a transaction that has not gone through?
Hello,
I just went to buy a sandwich and I paid with my iPhone using Apple Pay but a weird thing happened, on my wallet app the transaction has displayed as normal that I have made a payment but from the shop said that my transaction has not gone through?
Would Apple Pay display a transaction that has not gone through?
Who should I believe - the shop or Apple Transaction History?
This made me feel really bad because it was just a £3 sandwich and I offered them to pay again, but they said no since my device is showing that I have paid and I left.
I am using Apple Pay from about a month ago for everything and so far have not had such problems.
One more thing: usually when I pay with Apple Pay a few seconds after the transaction i get a notification from the app of my bank which is linked with apple pay that I have made a payment, but this time no such notification came in, just the one from Apple Pay on the transaction history.

Hi
The payment terminal advises the shop / merchant whether a transaction has been completed successfully.
Successful payments will be confirmed in due course on your bank / card statement. In the meantime, for your peace of mind, you may wish to ask the shop for a void sale receipt in respect of any failed payment.
You can report failed transactions to Apple. The form enables you to report issues with specific merchants, transactions and payment cards, so can be helpful in enabling Apple to investigate:
