Q: Cannot drag files across multiple folders and subfolders

Hi all,

I upgraded to El Capitan the day it came out. I've mostly enjoyed it, but one thing I've noticed is that I seem to have lost the ability to drag and drop one or more files across folders and subfolders in a Finder window just once to relocate them. This was always a great feature because you would then not need to open up a separate Finder window just to move certain files. As a result I now have to drag a file to the main folder where the destination subfolder is, do it again to move it into a subfolder inside it, and so on and so forth. This is obviously tedious, as sometimes there can be multiple levels of subfolders in a folder to which you would like to move a file, and worse yet often more than one file. Dragging and dropping, finding the files that were just dropped and alt-selecting each one, and then dragging and dropping, is not my idea of efficiency. Many a mistake can be made, and then files get accidentally left in a subfolder not having reached their intended destination.

I was wondering if anybody else was encountering the same issue after the upgrade. It's probably a setting somewhere, but since previous versions of the Mac OS have always had this on by default, I don't know where to find it.

Thanks for any help!
