Q: Apple Watch says 'connected'. IPhone5 says paired. BUT NOT CONNECTED!

My apple watch shows that's it's connected to the phone (on the watch, I see the green iphone).

My iphone5 settings/bluetooth says the watch is paired.

But if I press the "ring iphone" icon from the watch, it says that the iphone is ringing but it DOESN'T work. And runtastic can't see the phone either.

Of course, this WAS working. But then it stops working. The support page says that if something goes wrong (like now), to reset the watch and wipe all settings and repair. Do you know how frustrating this is to lose all my stats that are sitting on my watch right now. The watch is all about giving you rewards for standing up, working out, etc. And then, every week, I have to wipe all of that off my watch. It's the THIRD time I reset my watch in 3 weeks ARG.

I have the latest ISO 9.1

I have the latest watchOS 2.0.1

My bluetooth, WIFI and cellular data is ON

YES: I tried "turning it off and on again". I tried the 2 version: rebooting the watch first OR rebooting the iphone first. They still don't see each other.

I did reset my iphone to default settings 2 weeks ago as well.

Both are at 100% battery. And, yes, I tried with both plugged in as well. Sitting 1 inch from each other.

This is plain not working. So, the only option is really for me to wipe my watch again, eh? Maybe returning the watch to the store and getting a garmin sounds like the easiest solution at this point... Worse apple product ever (and I have them all). This is pure junk. You sit there by the side of the road punching your watch for it to start. I ran over 120km in the past month and only was able to get the watch to monitor 7km of that.

Even the workout app sometimes "just stops". Today, it stopped after 100 meters. My old garmin watch used to lose the battery too fast. The apple watch doesn't have the battery problem but it has a serious software quality issue. It truly is not the apple from 3 years ago when "it just worked".
