Q: problem with link another email to Apple ID on Ipad

Hi

I have a Ipad 2. I reset it but I couldn't active it again because long time ago I create an email to send information with my family. I didn't create Apple ID on this email but it links automatically to apple ID account. Now when I active my Ipad, the Screen tell me "this Ipad is linked to an Apple ID and Password that were used to set up this Ipad. (e....@yahoo.com). So I didn't have password for this Apple ID account

When I open the apple ID with forgot password, and I choose: Email authentication: To access your information, we will send an email to the address(es) on file for you". but the system told me "Email has been sent. When you receive your sign in information, follow the directions in the email to reset your password".

I open my account but nothing send to me. I have repeated for several times but I got nothing. I recognize your system is very complicated. Now what can I do to reactive my Ipad. Thanks

iPad Mini, iOS 7.1.2

Did you put a rescue email address on that account ? If you did then then reset email will have gone to that email account.

If not, and you've checked the spam folder as well as the inbox on the email account that you think the email is going to, then you should be able to reset the password by answering the account's security questions on http://iforgot.apple.com

If you can't then try contacting Support in your country to get the password reset : Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support

If your country isn't on that page : https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

If they can't reset it (they will only do so if they can confirm your id and that it's your account), and if you were the original purchaser of the iPad (i.e. it wasn't bought used) then you could try going to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar appointment if you do) or try contacting iTunes Support online (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/) and see if they can remove the iPad from the account - they are likely to want to see proof of ownership before they might help e.g. original receipt with the serial number on it

(For info you are talking to fellow users on these forums, not iTunes Support nor Apple.)

    Hi

For example I created Apple ID on email A, I use email B to talk with my friend. But now when I reactive my Ipad. It asks me the apple ID base on email B. But I don't have password for Apple ID on email B. Should I delete email B in the apple ID. I check both of them on inbox and spam but I got nothing.   apple ID.jpg

The id that are being asked for on the activation screen should be the account's primary email address. You don't have a different iTunes account in the format 'e....@yahoo.com' ? An email address can't be the primary email address on one account and an alternate email address on a different account, address have to be unique.

And if an account has a rescue email address on it then reset emails will be sent to that address - rescue email addresses are added / viewed / changed by answering the account's security questions on the Password And Security section of the account.

If you can't reset the password for the account that the iPad is locked to then try going to Apple Store or contacting iTunes Support online and see if they can/will remove the iPad from the account

    1. call apple, ask for account security

    2. they will ask you account verification questions. theres 5 pages or so of things to go through, they need to verify 2 pieces of customer information. you probably have 3 security questions, so if you can answer those, a password reset email can be sent to any email of your choice. if the email address that you want it sent to was not previously on file, it will take a minimum of 24 hours until you will receive it

    3. check that email, it expires 3 hours after you receive it.

    4. change your password and sign back in to activate it

You are sure that's the id that you were using in Settings > iCloud on the iPad ? It shows in the Find My iPhone section of the account in http://www.icloud.com ?

Try going to an Apple Store or contacting iTunes Support online and see if they can remove the iPad from the account that it's locked - see my first reply
