This printer is on the network at an my office building, and I am at my house. I added the printer when I was at my office. Can I print to this printer from my house using the LPD? Also wait are all 10.x.x.x addresses not accessible from a remote location? Thanks

Nov 6, 2015 6:58 PM in response to yankee manby Csound1,You would need to establish a VPN connection to the network it is on when you are not, speak to your business IT dept, they may not allow it but it can be done.

Nov 6, 2015 7:08 PM in response to yankee manby Csound1,Any address beginning 172, 192 or 10, these are private addresses, my network begins 10.xxx.xxx.xxx, as do thousands of others, they are local networks (LAN) as opposed to internet accessible addresses (WAN). Without them there would not be enough addresses for all of us.
But you can access them over a VPN, not technically difficult but businesses want to control who can get into their networks. So you need permission and a VPN to get in. Then you can print to the printer in your office.
