Hi, I have an early 2009 iMac which I have just installed OS X El Capitan version 10.11.1 on and since the instal it has been so slow it is almost useless. Imovie just freezes and various other apps just take so long to open its not funny.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

I do have the same problem with my iMac early 2009 3.06 GHz IC2D 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

It became very slow with El Capitan, show difficulties to go online (maybe because too slow). Ask constantly you log into iCloud (always error connecting).

I use a personal Wifi at home and my iPhone 6+ or my iPad mini 3 doesn't have those problems.

I dunno what to do ? downgrade ?

I have an early 2009 imac which i have just upgraded to osx El Capitan and it has just gone very slow
