Where is English Tamil font on Pages 5.6?

Where is English Tamil font on Pages 5.6?

I am using Pages 5.6 on my '09 MacBook Pro, OSX El Capitan.

I use Logoist2 and Snagit to create simple graphics.

I have discovered that both Logoist2 and Snagit have the English Tamil MN font available, which perfectly satisfies my font requirements.

I now want to use that same font, Tamil MN in Pages, but that font does NOT appear in the list of available fonts!

What must I do to use the Tamil MN font in Pages, as I am able to do in SnagIt and Logoist2?

MacBook Pro (17-inch Mid 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

First of all check Format > Font > Show Fonts. It should be in the lists there and you can select it, even if not in Pages own list.

But I strongly recommend you not use a Tamil font for English text. It is not designed for that, but for the Tamil script. You never know what kind of quirks or errors the English part will have, and non-Mac machines will never have this very specialized font installed, so they will always substitute something else in its place.

After going to Format > Font > Show Fonts, where I did see Tamil MN, I then went back into Pages and Tamil MN appeared on the list of fonts, where it had not shown up before.

Sounds like great advice, not using a non-English-based font for my doc. I initially chose Tamil MN because it was the only font I could find with a circular 'C' shape, strong verticals, enhanced extenders and descenders, sans serif, that allowed me to tuck the following letter, 'o' (as in Community) tightly into the open bowl of the 'C', to create a logo.

I will avoid using Tamil MN font in all Pages doc, except for my logo, created via Logoist2 and exported as an logo image. The (Tamil) logo image is what I'll insert in my Pages doc. Does that sound 'safe' to you?

Yes, graphic uses like that are totally safe. Problems might only arise when using it for longer runs of Latin script text and where you need other platforms to read it in digital form.
