Airplay from YouTube on Apple TV (4th) not working from MacBook Air

So I am watching a video on YouTube via Safari and when I hit the Airplay button and select my Apple TV nothing happens. It works from my iPhone/iPad but not my Mac.

Any suggestions?

Same problem here on Apple TV 3rd generation from my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) and the latest versions of Mac OS and Safari...

Right now Airplay from iTunes is working, but NOT WORKING from Youtube on Safari...

For info: my MacBook Pro 2010 is having Airplay usually working ONLY from Youtube on Safari and from iTunes (Airplay for screensharing is working from 2011 version).

I have the same issue, tried rebooting everithing, router, mac and apple tv, tried restoring router and safari to factory settings, nothing worked, then tried the using airplay with vimeo and worked perfectly, so i guess its a problem with youtube... almost made a clean install of el cap on the mac for this problem... Using apple tv 3erd gen, macbook pro 2010 13 inch el capitan 10.11.1.

It was definitely working for YouTube sometime in the last month – in fact, I had to disable Flash for YouTube to get the default player to run with access to the AirPlay button. I hadn't used it since then until today. I started attributing it to other changes in my system configuration, so it's good know it's most likely a YouTube issue. Vimeo seems to work fine, as others have mentioned.
