Installation hangs on removing backup files

Did you ever find the solution? Right now with Windows 10 anniversary update I'm with the same issue.

I too have the same issue. Apple support points to Microsoft. Microsoft points to Apple.

I closed it with Ctrl-Alt-Del after 10 minutes and went to Outlook. I was able to load my calendar, contacts in the iCloud tab was there. I'm sure installation was not as intended, however it seems to be working.

I have been experiencing the same problem with icloud hanging at "removing backup files" since Sept 29 I have had no access to my icloud calendar or contacts through Outlook 2013 and ALL of them are in the cloud. I sent log files to Elise who is a second level tech at Apple and she said that specialists were working on the problem and would get back to me when they solved it. Help!

We tried removing everything Apple from the Windows 10 PC. Did not change the hang up with the installation. Maybe something in the registry got rearranged when I had an itunes upgrade lock up.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried to install from Apple Software Update too, and it hangs on the install.

Same problem. Tried all the usual things, nothing helps. Cannot install iCloud.
