on find friends app, how do i turn off request for being notified 'next time person leaves or arrives? using iPhone 6 iOS 9.1 thank you

Try this:
Sliding up the window by double clicking the home button
The person that is sending the notification might have to disable notifications.
I Was not familiar with 'find my friends' app, when I opened it, my family member's email addresses were listed as friends/contacts. I clicked on one of the email addresses & it gives option of 'notifying' me when they leave or arrive, I don't want either choice checked & I don't see how to uncheck the leave option ( where check is currently). Why does one have to be checked? Does this notify them that I am watching them? It's creepy?! I did turn my phone's notifications off.
