I unintentionally deleted some songs that I had purchased from iTunes. I went into iTunes Store/purchased to re-download them; the songs are part of an album. The songlist shows the songs that I had originally purchased but I cannot now re-download them.

Go to the iTunes Store main page, then press "Purchased" in the middle right:
You should find a "Not in my library" area where you can do the re-download.
I found this album in the iTunes Store. I have not purchased it. Note the difference between those items available for purchase and those labelled "Album Only". This difference seems to correspond to your songs' appearance and should help you locate what to do in the "Purchased" area.
the purchased songs were not found in the Not In My Library section.
I did find the files eventually, in Trash. I was able to drag them to the desktop then add back to iTunes Library.
