Q: How can i restore my phone with iOS 9.1 through iTunes?

I have an iPhone 5s which I had recently upgraded to iOS 9.1 on wifi, now that I have gotten a new iPhone i want to restore my old one. Every time I connect to iTunes and click restore, iTunes tries to upgrade my phone to iOS 9.1 again. This process takes too long and ends up timing out the restore process leaving me where I started. Can anyone help at all?

Did you try to download the firmware only and install it after the download has been successful?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

Also make sure that no security software is blocking contact to Apple Servers during the install process:

Sometimes security software can stop your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.

Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't blocking a connection to the Apple servers.

If you still see the error message, check for USB connection issues.
