Apple TV can't connect to PC's Itunes

My Apple TV Gen2 will not connect to my windows 7 pc itunes when connected through a router (Netgear wndr3400v2 or other). But if I remove the router and connect directly to the wall jack it works fine. Setup is Apple tv - Router - Netgear FS108 switch (unmanaged) - Windows 7 pc
