Q: could not activate new iPhone 6

Hi! I just got an unlocked 16 gb iPhone 6, and when I try to configurate it, it shows me that message "Could not activate iPhone. Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes..."

I tried multiple times and got the same message

And at the place of sim status it says "Searching..."

Anyone can help me?? Thank you!!

    Who did the unlocking?

You're aware that only the carrier the iPhone is locked to can officially unlock?

I didn't because i've read in some users comments it's not recomended (i dont think so since its what apple tells you to do) but i'll try.

Could it be because the sim was converted into nano sim cutting it? It doesnt show me any message about the sim being broke or something but idk. I'm totally new into all this and i'm afraid of anything i could do haha. Thank you!

Sim free is not unlock (check your receipt).

In where country did you buy iPhone and in which country you are now?

BTW, you should get a nano SIM, not cutting from a micro SIM.

My fault! It's unlocked (as it says in the receipt). My friend bought it at an apple store in Miami and i'm from Argentina. Both of my friends bought their iPhones and didnt have any problem activating it.

Now i'm waiting to get a nano sim from my carrier. I didnt mention I sent my sim to cut and covert it into a nano one, and maybe thats the problem (i really hope so 'cause if it's something with the phone i dont know what i'll do ) but i think if the sim is damaged or something it wouldnt show me this message...

    Thanks for the help!

Thats the site i checked for the first time, tried almost everything that i could and nothing worked.

The only thing im waiting to do from that list is the "replace sim from my carrier". I hope it works that way, if not I dont know what it could be and its complicated to get help from Apple being in Argentina. I really hope i can fix it.

    Thank you for the help!

There are some problems if you buy an iPhone that's not intended to use in the country of purchase.

    1. Warranty is not International so if there's any claim, only in the country where iPhone was bought (Apple do not accept shipping or mailing)

    2. For Services see above.

    Good luck.
