Problem with display overlapping

(iPhone 6s running IOS 9.1) My phone has been working fine since I got it in October, but all of a sudden last night the display started malfunctioning. I tried restarting my phone multiple times (home+lock button), I have turn it on and off just using the power button. The only thing I haven't tried is resetting my settings. I'm apprehensive about doing this if there might be another way.. If anyone is having similar problems or has any idea how to fix this please let me know!
