I have the same issue. I have multiple Netflix Users and I can usually select a different user and get in that way. After that I need to log out of Netflix and then log back in again and then it is fine for awhile. But it has happened multiple times in the past several days.

If you don't have multiple Netflix Users, perhaps you can try logging onto Netflix on you computer and going to your Preferences and select log out of all my devices. After that you should be able to log back in on your Apple TV and hopefully that will work.

Good luck. Hopefully there is a fix for this soon.

    Thanks

    Dave

I have issues with Netflix hanging too.  Seems to happen for me after walking back in the flow with the "Menu" button.  At some point I get to a screen where there is no content presented, just a spinning segmented circle indicating it's doing -something-.  The only way I can fix this is to quit the app (double click the Home button, swipe left/right to the Netflix app, swipe up to quit it), and then start it again from scratch.

I am also seeing slow speeds on Apple TV 4 when I do a speed test. So I think this is related to this issue. Do you see slow speeds as well?

I have seen a few other posts where others are experiencing slow speeds so I'm wondering that is the root of this issue.

No, I'd say it is unlikely to be the cause of the issue, slow speeds are going to affect higher quality streams such as those from the iTunes Store before Netflix.

Yeah I think you're right. Even when I have good consistent speeds I was still have an issue logging into Netflix. I did contact Netflix but haven't received too much back in the way of suggestions.

TRy deleting the Netflix app, then going back to the App Store and getting it again. Worked for me. When deleting the app it warns it will delete all the app's data. That may be the key.

I have also been having trouble streaming Netflix on my Apple TV 4th gen.. I had the problem with my Apple TV 2 and though it was perhaps getting old.. My new one is just as bad.. The thing is that I also purchased an Amazon fire stick at the same time as my new Apple TV 4 and it never has trouble streaming Netflix.

I've had this problem a few times now. Every time, I have to delete the app to get it working again.
