"you need to restart your computer" iBook G4

Good evening.

Is still use this occasionally.

Tryhing to turn it on today, it keep ending up with the above statement in 3 languages on a black screen. The rotating sun symbol is not running..

Several restarts did not resolve it.

Screen lit properly

Any ideas?

iBook white 12" G4 800 mHz-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

You are seeing what is called a kernel panic, possibly due to corrupted system files on your hard drive. Try booting from the original OS install disk and check the internal drive with Disk Utility.
