Q: Stuffed up erase and reinstall prior to sale, lost partition ?

Hi Guys,

I have sold my iMac and went to erase everything and reinstall Maverick. I think I made mistakes and lost my partitions. The problem is I don't get a hard drive to select when reinstalling Maverick from the web install. I attach a series of pics, I have lost my Macintosh HD drive, it is just called "internal drive" I can't make a partition. I boot into safe mode, or try to, but it won't boot up to allow me to select a volume or drive.

Please advise how I can fix.

Oh Internet recovery link only works as far as slect a hard drive to install too, at that point there is no hard drive to select, I tried fixing the hard drive and I tested the hard drive and all seemed okay, I just don't have a disk to select. Thanks

Your partition map is incorrect, GUID is needed, not APM (Apple Partition Map)

actually dev/disk/1 is my main drive and is shown as GUID. I tried to run diskutil cs revert /dev/disk1 and also then dev/disk2 but just get the error message CoreStorage Logical Volume.

I had wiped / erased the hard drive prior to the imac being collected as I sold it. Am trying to load an os for the buyer.

My pics above show the current position of the drive. I am happy for it to be wiped completley, I am unable to add a partition to the drive per the pics

None of those pictures shows a drive with a GUID partition on it, so take one and post it, 1 only, disconnect all external drives (if any).

Try to get better pictures, centred and straight

I ran diskutil cs list and get this.
Someone said run diskutil cs revert /dev/disk1 but it says it is not a CS Logical volume. My screenprint says I do have a core logical volume, but there is no disc number against it. Thank you for your patience.

Go back to Disk Utility, show me the internal drive (first aid tab)
