Nov 9, 2015 11:05 AM in response to Milligan 5150by Ralph9430,★HelpfulThere is no need to install any antivirus, clean disk or any other types of applications like those. In fact all of the available programs cause many more problems and usually solve none. The iMac and OS X will take care of any issues that arise. If you are getting messages that your disk is full then you need to remove stuff from your disk. Delete the items you no longer need. Copy other items that you want to keep to an external hard disk or some other kind of storage media. After you have made the copy and are sure it is good you can delete those items from your iMac and free up space on your startup disk.

There's a wonderful little app called Diction on your Mac.
When you want to write an email, respond to a post, or send a text message, just look for the microphone icon, press it, and begin dictating.
The icon will automatically appear in the Apple apps you are using to respond.
Here's more info about it:
Mac Basics: Dictation lets you speak text instead of typing - Apple Support
http://www.howtogeek.com/178636/use-voice-dictation-to-speak-to-your-mac/
Hope this will get you started. It's a little strange in the beginning, but after a little while using (experimenting with) it, it becomes very natural. Don't forget to speak the name of the punctuation, i.e., "period," "comma", "exclamation mark," etc.
My son is a complete non-typer, and Dictation has enabled him to email and text with the best of them.

Don't worry about your typing. Just be yourself. If you need help with your Mac, there are many fellow Mac users here. Just ask .
You might find some carpenters here:
And other blokes in that online shed who don't worry about "leaving the toilet seat up".
Regards,
Ian.
