Q: Cannot receive emails in El Capitan

Apparently I can send emails in El Capitan, but I cannot receive them.  

 

I use a POP.  account.

 

I have deleted and restored too many times to count.

 

I have called GODADDY--they are guessing--no help.

 

Anyone out there have a solution.

    Please select the Advanced tab in the settings for the account and uncheck the box marked

              Automatically detect and maintain account settings

    if it's checked. Then make sure that all the settings are exactly as specified by the service provider.
