Q: App Store won't accept my password for logging in

Every time I try to download the new OS the app store asks for my password. After entering the correct iCloud account and password I get the message "An Apple ID verification code is required to sign in. Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices." However there is only room for my password, and it then tells me it's incorrect. It seems like I'm very stuck!

I've solved this!  This is a very poorly designed system.  You need to put the password and then the verification number TOGETHER into the same field.  So if your password is dog1234 and your verification is 456 798 342, then you would enter: dog1234456798342.

It is very frustrating because you won't get your verification code to show up on your phone until after entering the password (by itself) once and being rejected.  Then the red text that tells you to add your verification code is unclear about the fact that you need to add this at the end of the password in the same field as the password.  This needs to be stated clearly if they want to do it this way, but really they should have a second password field show up below the first for the verification code.  It is also possible to pop the field up after you enter the password, which is what I expected to happen, but didn't.
