I can plug hdmi from direct tv into one tv port and apple tv gen 4 into another one. the only way to get apple tv to play on the tv is to unplug the direct tv hdmi. In that config the apple tv works well If i switch to the tv hdmi port with the apple tv (wthile both the apple tv and the direct tv are plugged in separate hdmi ports) the apple tv does not display and the tv shifts to the direct pc hdmi port and plays hdmi
