Q: Final Cut Pro X crashes when stabilising footage

Hi,

I am running the latest version of Final Cut Pro X, working in my regular workflow. Every 2nd time I go to stabilise a piece of footage, FCPX crashes. When it reloads, it then stabilises the footage I asked it to stabilise.

It's quite weird, not come across this problem before. Generally, I record without needing to stabilise footage, but as you can imagine, eight times in a row is rather frustrating.

If you've got any tips / knowledge on what's going wrong I would welcome your advice. If it's just a glitch, will Apple be aware of it?

Hi,

I am experiencing the same issue as Simon. I am using FCPX for many years now but never came across this issue. I am using the latest versions of software FCPX and OSX on an 2012 iMac.

Might be a glitch in the lastest version.

I am pleased I'm not the only one! Annoying glitch isn't it!

Does Apple read the forum? Or do I need to take this further?

CCheck out the updated nVidia drivers. Take it further.

Use 10.11.1. Did you read the thread? What have you done to correct it?

I use 10.11.1 and FCP10.2.2.

I have just update MACOS to 10.11.1. I had no problems with the previous version of MACOS (10.10.x).

Sorry, I have no solution to this problem. I've sent a feedback to Apple.

I'm waiting FCP10.2.3.

Hi Tom,

I have the same problem tonight it crashed at least 5 times in 20 minutes of use - I have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB card and have just updated the driver.
Thank you for the tip - so far so good after about 20 minutes of use. I will monitor it.

Updated my drivers, it fixed the stabilisation issues, but now crashes every time the play bar passes over a transition... very frustrating!

Tom, Is there any talk at Apple about investigating this issue. Seems very ironic that Apples own update is hurting the most serious users of their own professional software (defined by the choice to purchase a faster graphics card.
